The current Messenger export does not depend on message prefill. It copies the form summary, opens the configured m.me destination and asks the visitor to paste, review and send.
Use the correct public username
A Facebook username is also used in its Messenger profile URL. Configure only a profile or Page you control, and test the resulting m.me address before placing the form on a live page.
Copy before opening Messenger
The generated script builds a readable summary and tries the browser Clipboard API. If clipboard access fails, it displays the same content in a manual copy prompt instead of discarding it.
if (navigator.clipboard?.writeText) {
navigator.clipboard.writeText(message).catch(() => window.prompt('Copy this message:', message));
} else {
window.prompt('Copy this message:', message);
}
window.open('https://m.me/' + username, '_blank', 'noopener,noreferrer');Give an explicit instruction
The form status should say that Messenger opened and the copied text must be pasted. Do not announce that a message was delivered because only the visitor can complete that action.
Test the fallback path
Test with clipboard permission allowed and blocked, while logged in and logged out, and on mobile. Confirm the destination is correct and that the full message remains available when a popup is blocked.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the visitor need to paste the message?
FormToInbox deliberately uses a copy-and-open flow instead of depending on an unreliable public prefill parameter.
Can the form send through a Facebook Page automatically?
Not in the current free export. Automated sending would require a separate authorized server integration that is not active.
Is the Messenger username public?
Yes. The username is part of the m.me URL in the exported JavaScript.
