The free builder produces portable HTML, scoped CSS and optional JavaScript. You own the exported files, but you are also responsible for reviewing the destination, privacy notice and deployed behavior.
Finish the form before exporting
Choose a suitable template, remove unnecessary fields, write clear labels and select a real destination. Preview both desktop and mobile states before downloading.
- Confirm every required field is genuinely necessary.
- Check the destination settings and message introduction.
- Use Preview code to inspect the generated files.
Understand the ZIP contents
Download ZIP creates index.html, form.css, form.js and README.txt. The HTML contains the form structure, the CSS is scoped to the generated form, and the JavaScript handles the selected destination and status feedback.
Add the files to your site
Copy the form markup into the intended page or adapt the generated index. Serve the stylesheet and script from stable public paths. The script uses defer so it runs after the document has been parsed.
<link rel="stylesheet" href="/forms/contact/form.css">
<!-- Paste the generated form markup here. -->
<script src="/forms/contact/form.js" defer></script>Verify the deployed URL
Test the real HTTPS page, not only a local file. Check keyboard navigation, validation, narrow screens, blocked popups and the actual handoff destination. Publish a privacy notice that describes where the form sends data.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to keep FormToInbox installed?
No. The generated files do not require a FormToInbox front-end runtime.
Can I rename the files?
Yes, as long as you update the stylesheet and script paths and preserve the selectors used by the generated code.
Does downloading the ZIP publish the form?
No. You must add the files to a site you control and verify the final URL.
